Dar Good
This was a sweet, slow burn with a misty overlay of temptation swirling around it. This isn't a dark read, this isn't sugary sweet read, this is all about the temptation, the pleasure, the aniticpation, and the thrill. It has sexy moments, and they will burn you, but it has so much more Hugo loves, like, loves women. Their shapes, their thrills, and making them want him. Good thing, he is an escort after, one of the most demanded in Tanglewood. He has done so well for himself that he now only works one night a week, Saturday. He has been an escort for a lot of years, since his madam picked him up off the streets in his mid-teens, and that gives him some freedom now that his bank account is cushy. Nobody has ever made him feel though, it has always only been about the sex, until Bea Bea doesn't leave the hotel she has lived in since she was 10. Her guardian makes sure she has everything she needs, but human contact is minimal, her choice. The world is a scary place, so it easier to stay inside, it is a hotel afterall, and it caters to her every need except one. Bea needs to have sex, so hiring it to come to her seems like the easiest choice to make, until she meets Hugo and he wants to bring her pleasure Both of these characters are extremely likable, both are extremely sweet to each other, and they are perfectly matched. The build up to the sex, the build up to the relationship, and the build up to them being together was a slow climb, that plateaued, rather than dropped off. Just a thrilling of a ride, but the journey was the excitement

I had this book in my library for so long and kept thinking, "I really want to read that" So i finally did! I love SW and have read most of her books but to say this book left me slightly disappointed is a pretty fair call. I don't know if it's because I expected the storyline to be something entirely different e.g. about an "escort" and his "escort" ways, filled with lots of hot and dirty... or just because i thought the storyline and characters were pretty average overall? Both the H & h characters were slightly off and annoying. I really struggled to find any emotional connection or believe their struggles were real, never mind the fact I was constantly questioning WHY! Why didnt the 'h' do this? Surely HE doesnt get paid for that? Why, why, whhhhhyyy? My eye rolls were getting overwhelming 🙄 The actual storyline itself had promise, but the execution overall lacked believability and the sex... totally off, as in yuck. The H is meant to be some sexual extrodinaire, yet his almost forceful way was a little cringy. Unless ur into wham, bam... ummm, was that it, no thank you mame! Sorry, but this read is going to the "that was a waste of my reading time" pile. Saying that, I love this author and will continue to read her books.

Such a poignantly tender story of a fella (forced into the elite prostitution at age 16) and the young, scared woman who wormed her way into his cold heart and woke him up to the beauty of love. Towards the end I was worried but then the HEA happened. Whew! Skye, as usual, is a masterful story-weaver. Thank you, Skye.
