Today I’m going to talk about beach as a setting for erotica, like in my book, Trust in Me. Trust in Me is dark erotica, which for me means it’s one part erotic romance, one part thriller, and one part psychological mindfuck. A few people have even called it erotic horror, but I’m not so sure about that. And yes, part of it does take place on a beach. It’s kind of a suspenseful time of the book… you might even say it’s the climax 🙂
I think most erotic romances show the couple having sex on the beach. But seriously, have you ever tried sex on a beach? Sand and chafing and crabs. Now, that’s a horror show 😉 But I’m breaking my own rule in Trust in Me’s sequel, Hear Me. Well, most of it is set on a beach, so sex on the beach is kind of inevitable.
